The International Conference “Participation Effect. Perspectives on Theatre and Film in Education” brought together researchers, educators, artists, and practitioners from around the world to explore the role of participatory practices in theatre and film education. Hosted by UNATC and endorsed by IDEA, the event facilitated interdisciplinary dialogue and showcased innovative pedagogical approaches.
Conference Highlights
Plenary Talks
The conference opened with five plenary sessions, including four invited talks delivered by:
- Ligia Deca
- Sanja Krsmanović Tasić
- Rarita Zbranca
- Cristina Cusenza
A fifth plenary was presented by Bogdana Darie and Andreea Jicman, who highlighted the activities currently developed at UNATC.
Keynote Lectures
Three keynote speakers—Adam Cziboly, Thalia Goldstein, and Shoshi Keisari—offered perspectives on drama therapy, arts education policy, and the cognitive and emotional impact of theatre and film on learning.
Workshops
The program featured:
- 3 invited workshops, facilitated by Robin Pascoe & Liz Pascoe, and Jum Rubin
- 9 practitioner-led workshops
Panels and Presentations
Across 9 thematic panels, a total of 34 presentations examined a wide range of topics.
Performances
Three performances enriched the program.
International Participation
The conference welcomed participants from 17 countries, including:
Romania, Republic of Moldova, Serbia, Norway, Australia, the United Kingdom, Singapore, China, Finland, Greece, the United States of America, Israel, Brazil, the Czech Republic, France, Slovakia, and the Philippines.
