IDEA members and organizations work with drama/theatre in community. The primary work is dynamic, yet fleeting. It is about live human encounters. Since 1995, IDEA publications have helped the field capture, share and wonder together about the impacts of drama/theatre and education work across the globe. Publications have helped IDEA members tell multi-voiced stories as researchers, as artists, as educators, and as a diverse and evolving community.
Research. The IDEA organization has grown alongside the development of research into drama/theatre education and applied theatre. Since the late 1980s and early 1990s, academic journals on educational drama/theatre and applied theatre have become established, often involving IDEA members in leadership. In the border-crossing spirit of IDEA, research publications involve collaborations and partnerships. Individual IDEA members represent IDEA when they contribute to the research discourse, regionally and globally, through established academic journals and book publishers dedicated to drama/theatre education and related fields.
Projects and Resources. Official IDEA projects are often preserved and analyzed through publications. Project-based work that analyzes ideas, raises questions and invites response and sharing through art is a practices that honors practitioners and participants. It is also a practice that highlights the commonalities between research and art done well in drama/theatre and education. Project publications tell the story of productions, initiatives and collaborations. IDEA members and member organizations have preserved and disseminated their projects globally, sharing written highlights, captioned photos and artifacts, multimedia reports and documentaries, and recorded shows through the IDEA network. Thoughtfully curated project publications look backward to document jobs well done, and forward to spark and inspire continuing and new projects.
Evolving Community. Increasingly accessible options for multimedia storytelling in the hands of many democratizes the research and publication worlds and promotes inclusivity. The on-line environment pluralizes the rich possibilities of our global village. Every IDEA member has stories to tell that are worth publishing in some way. Let’s find all the ways. Together.

Les membres et les organisations d’IDEA travaillent avec le théâtre dans la communauté. Le travail principal est dynamique, mais éphémère. Il s’agit de rencontres humaines vivantes. Depuis 1995, les publications d’IDEA ont aidé le domaine à capturer, partager et s’interroger ensemble sur les impacts du théâtre / théâtre et du travail éducatif à travers le monde. Les publications ont aidé les membres d’IDEA à raconter des histoires à plusieurs voix en tant que chercheurs, artistes, éducateurs et en tant que communauté diversifiée et en évolution.
Recherche. L’organisation IDEA s’est développée parallèlement au développement de la recherche sur l’éducation théâtrale et appliquée. Depuis la fin des années 1980 et le début des années 1990, des revues académiques sur le théâtre éducatif et le théâtre appliqué se sont établies, impliquant souvent des membres de l’IDEA dans le leadership. Dans l’esprit transfrontalier d’IDEA, les publications de recherche impliquent des collaborations et des partenariats. Les membres individuels d’IDEA représentent IDEA lorsqu’ils contribuent au discours de recherche, à l’échelle régionale et mondiale, par le biais de revues universitaires établies et d’éditeurs de livres dédiés à l’éducation dramatique / théâtrale et à des domaines connexes.
Projets et ressources. Les projets officiels IDEA sont souvent préservés et analysés par le biais de publications. Le travail basé sur des projets qui analyse les idées, soulève des questions et invite à la réponse et au partage à traversl’art est une pratique qui honore les praticiens et les participants. C’est aussi une pratique qui met en évidence les points communs entre la recherche et l’art bien fait dans le théâtre / théâtre et l’éducation. Les publications du projet racontent l’histoire de productions, d’initiatives et de collaborations. Les membres et les organisations membres de l’IDEA ont préservé et diffusé leurs projets à l’échelle mondiale, en partageant des faits saillants écrits, des photos et des artefacts sous-titrés, des rapports multimédias et des documentaires, ainsi que des spectacles enregistrés par l’intermédiaire du réseau IDEA. Les publications de projet soigneusement organisées regardent en arrière pour documenter les travaux bien faits, et en avant pour susciter et inspirer des projets continus et nouveaux.
Communauté en évolution. Des options de plus en plus accessibles pour la narration multimédia entre les mains de beaucoup démocratisent les mondes de la recherche et de la publication et favorisent l’inclusion. L’environnement en ligne pluralise les riches possibilités de notre village global. Chaque membre d’IDEA a des histoires à raconter qui valent la peine d’être publiées d’une manière ou d’une autre. Los miembros y organizaciones de IDEA trabajan con drama/teatro en la comunidad. El trabajo principal es dinámico, pero fugaz. Se trata de encuentros humanos en vivo. Desde 1995, las publicaciones de IDEA han ayudado en el campo a captar, compartir y preguntarse juntos sobre los impactos del trabajo de drama/teatro y educación en todo el mundo. Las publicaciones han ayudado a los miembros de IDEA a contar historias con múltiples voces sea como investigadores, artistas, educadores y como una comunidad diversa y en evolución.
